Italian Influence

This week’s design is based on our luxury bespoke design service and is all about crisp clean lines and understated fabrics and furniture: the ultimate in modern Italian luxury.

INSPIRATION

The brief for this project was to create a simple and smart interior and immediately our thoughts turned to the Italians who do this so impeccably.

Creating that signature modern Italian style is a constant balancing act - warm neutrals with subtle accent colours, smooth leathers against textured weaves, clean lines sat alongside smooth curves.

CONCEPT

To ensure we are on brief, we present inspirational images reflecting the intended finishes and colour palette to our client for approval.

Each area receives the same attention with an indicative concept board. As many images are of a product or finish in situ, this really helps our clients visualise the finished product rather than just seeing abstract pieces out of context.

Concept images for all bespoke furniture and joinery are also presented at this point.

DEVELOPMENT

Alongside the initial concept, we will present our suggestions for hard finishes such as flooring, joinery, bathrooms, as well as the soft furnishings such as curtains, upholstery and cushions. This puts everything into context and shows how the materiality works together.

DETAIL

Next we build the detail.

Every piece of furniture will be selected by us and reflected onto a floorplan so a true representation of the space is provided. We know everyone is time poor, so we make life really simple by numbering the floorplans and furniture so our client can quickly refer back see to which piece goes where.

At this stage we also produce schedules and full working drawings for bespoke pieces of furniture and joinery. We understand that commissioning bespoke items can seem daunting so we reflect every measurement onto elevations to build a clear picture of the finished product.

Following approval, we bundle together all of the above including samples of every fabric and finish for future reference.

Next we move onto the bit everyone hates… costing. But don’t worry - we take a very transparent approach to this and as such we itemise every single thing so there are no nasty surprises.
