Tropical Oasis

After the success of our previous Before & After post on Loft Living, we could see that these types of posts go down a treat so we’re treating you all to another transformation blog.

This time we are showing you one of our personal favourites. In need of some serious loving, Decorum got their hands on this apartment and decided to turn it in to a fresh and chic home.

THE BRIEF

Glamorously bold apartment.

KITCHEN

Following discussion with the client, we decided to create an apartment that was both feminine and stylish.

Starting with the kitchen we knew we wanted to match the kitchen furniture to the cabinetry. So we decided to team the green with some teal (obviously velvet!) dining chairs. Keeping the kitchen simple so that the sitting room could do the talking, we added some gold accessories as well as a pop of pink and a monochromatic dish to tie in the kitchen with the sitting room.

SITTING ROOM

Previously lacking in colour, this sitting room now couldn’t be more different. Not wanting to scare the boys off by being too overwhelmingly girly, we scattered bold clashing patterns with a monochrome rug and cushions sitting against the palm leaf ottoman.

Whilst looking clean and contemporary, this sitting room lives up to everyone’s comfort expectations and the sofa doubles opens up into a bed to accommodate those extra guests. The ideal place to sit back and put your feet up after a long day.

MASTER BEDROOM

Our first thought when we walked in to this bedroom was how dark it was so we knew we wanted to maximise the light as much as possible. To do this, we decided to wave bye-bye to dark colours anywhere in this room.

Every room deserves even just the smallest touch of colour, so what better than to add some blush pink and mint cushions. We teamed with more gold accents to maintain that ‘glam’ vibe we had previously agreed on, and used open bottom furniture to create the illusion of extra space.
